I used to paste client work into AI rewriting tools without thinking twice. Then I started wondering where all those drafts ended up.
Ended up reading Naturalyx's privacy policy (https://naturalyx.co/privacy) and it's surprisingly clear:
Not saying it's perfect—retention windows for account data are vague. But it's one of the few policies that reads like it was written for users, not lawyers.
Curious what others do. Do you read the policy first, or just paste and hope?
Ended up reading Naturalyx's privacy policy (https://naturalyx.co/privacy) and it's surprisingly clear:
- Your original and rewritten text are not stored. Job history keeps only metadata (word counts, options, status, timestamps).
- Third-party processing is disclosed. Your text goes to a rewrite provider, and their retention is governed by their own terms. So "we don't store it" ≠ "no one stores it."
- Local browser drafts exist. Useful for resuming, risky on shared computers. The policy literally says don't paste secrets.
- No ad tracking, no data selling. Card numbers handled by the payment provider, not stored.
- Retention is split into three buckets. Account/billing, metadata, and body text. The last one is the one that matters.
